We, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, love all of the people who make up our church family. However with the passage of time comes death and loss. This page is meant to pay tribute to our members who have gone on to be with the Lord.


Mrs. Ella Mae Bacote McAllister
October 10, 1918- February 27, 2016
Sister McAlister will easily be regarded as the "Mother of Mt. Carmel". She raised three generations of her children and lived to see the fourth generation. She was well known as being an outstanding cook and for her love of fishing. She was also a member of the Gospel Choir, the Willing Workers, the Pastor's Aide Club, and the Missionary Society.



Deacon Greashon Harkless
Aug. 30, 1936-Dec. 16, 2015
Deacon Harkless was a member of the Senior Choir, Trustee Board, Men Club, Men Choir, and the Deacons Ministry. He was well-known for singing "Sending Up My Timber" and his powerful prayers.
Veterans Day Tribute

Reverend Dr. Solomon Eaddy, Sr.
February 23, 2016
Reverend Eaddy was the Pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church for 50 years. Three generations of members were born under his pastoral leadership. Reverend Eaddy was well known throughout the Pee Dee area and was one of the first African-American police officers in the Florence, SC area. Pastor Eaddy was especially known for his uplifting and soul stirring sermons and telling everyone that he lives on "Thank You Street". He will be sadly missed by many people throughout the state of South Carolina. Click here to view a tribute to Reverend Eaddy.

Bruce Thompson, Sr.
March 14, 1952-March 17, 2016
Mr. Thompson was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was known for his love of his wife, children, grandchildren, and nice cars.

Sister Annie Lee Faison

Sister Faison was a member of the Gospel Choir and the Willing Workers. She was well known for baking delicous cakes and biscuits.
Mrs. Lillie Bell Bacote
December 9, 1952-March 13, 2016
Mrs. Bacote was a beloved member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was known for cooking very delicious food for different occasions at the church. She cooked food at church with her sisters, the "Brown Girls", and it was always a good meal.
